Review on πŸ”Œ Mirror Mount Bracket + Wire Power Cord for Uniden DFR Radar Mount (3001109) by Aaron Collins

Not suitable for Mercedes, but also for Blendmount

Pretty good alternative to the rather expensive Blendmount, but not without disadvantages. I'll start with the main reason I bought it. I wanted to mount my R3 under the center rearview mirror of my Benz but it doesn't fit. Almost done but needs to be lengthened a bit to fit the mirror on the Mercedes. So what have I done? Well I just installed the bracket on my Nissan and it fits perfectly. The set screws (the ones that tighten the metal around the upper and lower ball joints) would be better if they were 2mm longer before tightening. At the current length, the screws will begin to lock and tighten as you insert them into the bracket threads. If you're not careful you'll think it's in place and you just need to keep tightening, but in reality you may have misaligned them and twisted the threads, stripping the threads on the bolts. I untied one of them and ended up twisting the threads and snapping off the tip of the screw with just one turn. If there was an extra 2mm of length I could loosely thread the bolts in before I start tightening. I saved the day by running to my local hardware store and grabbing 6mm hex head bolts with washers as a replacement. I untied one of them and ended up twisting the threads and snapping off the tip of the screw with just one turn. If there was an extra length of 2mm, could I loosely thread the bolts in before I start tightening.
