Review on 🚴 Enhance Your Cycling Performance with Profile Designs T2 Wing Base Bar (Black) by Tony Buckley

Good value for money! If you look at the specifications of

Good price! If you look at the specs, you'll see that the weight difference between these and comparable carbon-based handlebars is negligible. Unless you're rocking a $10,000+ bike, I don't see the point in spending an extra $100 on carbon megaphones compared to them. They're even pre-drilled for internal cable routing, and the matte black finish looks great. where to set your switches, read on. This is what I wanted to do and it took me SEVERAL hours of research to find a way that satisfied me. If I can make it easy for just one person, it's worth the time it took to add it to my review. You need to purchase the following items: 1) "Time Trial" brake lever set. I recommend Profile ABS Semi-Carbon TT brake levers. They can be purchased through Bike Nashbar directly here at Revain or on their website. 2) A set of shifters at the end of the handlebar compatible with your shifting system. Shimano Dura-Ace shifters work with all Shimano shifters from 105 to Dura-Ace. Just make sure you choose the right model for the number of gears on your bike. 3) A set of special clips called Shimano "Thumbies" from Paul Components (paulcomp.com). Be sure to purchase the 31.8mm style to match these rods. There are videos on Youtube showing you how to attach Dura-Ace shifters to your thumb. This allows you to mount the shifters on the 31.8mm section of the base bar near the stem, leaving the ends of the bar free to install the brake levers. And Walla! Megaphones with your brake levers AND switches right in the cockpit, no aero bars and thanks to the internal cable routing on this bar it's all very clean and streamlined. If, like me, you're not sure you can handle this job easily, any experienced bike mechanic should be able to handle it. I recommend one of Performance Bicycle's "Spin Doctors" who did a great job with mine.

Pros
  • Clamp: 31.8 mm
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
