Review on πŸŒ€ Efficient Cooling Solution: Argon Fan HAT for Raspberry Pi 4 Model B and Raspberry Pi 3 Model B – 40mm Fan with Power Button & Software Control by Norlan Pippinmd

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So far, so good!: Single-board computer

I like it. I only had about 12 hours. I have my own 30mm fan solution that just runs at 3.3V all the time so it doesn't get as noisy as it does at 5V. I set this up with 4 temperatures and it works great. I like the software too. Really nice touch. It's not as cool as, say, a newer Pi4 heatsink with a fan, but it's half the price. One star off for missing assembly parts, which would have been nice. Luckily I had some extras but after buying 4 total I had to order additional racks. As for the fan, I can hear it but it's not like other 40mm fans I have, no high pitched hum to hurt seals. Temps is set and with no real load it goes to 25% for a few minutes and then shuts off. Min Temp = Fan Speed 38 = 2050 = 5060 = 8570 = 100. : 11/12/2020 Too bad they only support Raspberry Pi OS / Ubuntu or apt based distros There is an unofficial Arch based install where I worked for Manjaro. But now I'm using Fedora ARM and haven't been able to install it yet. I'll try to do it manually.

Pros
  • Useful article
Cons
  • Poor manual
