Don't understand the positive reviews

The light I got was extremely weak. It can only be used in total darkness (zero light). Even then it only shows any visible light for about 2 inches. I assume I got a one off bad quality device, but I will never buy another. Don't know if it is worth the time to return, explain, repackage, and take to the UPS drop off. It just seems like a great disappointment, waste of money, and waste of time.

Pros

Works perfectly, adjuster allows me to choose size of beam. Very happy with purchase.

Cons

The flashlight's battery life is not long enough for extended use
