If you're buying a cable lock you already know you're using it for containment, not reliable protection. Any cable lock can be cut in seconds with a cutter, so I wouldn't use this lock on my bike if it was in an unsafe location or out of sight for an extended period of time. But works for me as I mostly only use it in a public tennis facility surrounded by a clubhouse and fences. Even on the days I don't carry my U-lock in my backpack, this lock is always on my bike so I can use it as a last resort when I need to stop quickly at the store. The bike rack is nice and convenient. When setting combos, be EXTREMELY careful when moving the numbers so you don't accidentally move the "Set Combo Dial" - I did this the first time as it's easy to do and I didn't know what mine was combo was. . Luckily I knew the first three digits and then had to manually enter the last two digits one at a time. Otherwise it would be a disaster. For the price I paid for this lock (super low price on a great sale day) I'm happy with it.
