Review on Walker 18133 Tru Fit Universal Muffler by Herb Guevara

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I had to replace the muffler...after replacing the engine.

I had a serious oil problem in my 1990 Chevy K2500 long cab pickup and after an engine change I found the muffler was clogged with soot. I had Walker 18133 and changed it to 17195 but 18202 worked too. The 18133 was a solid muffler, the perfect size and I had no complaints about it. 18202 and 17195 are SoundFX and 18133 and 22719 are Tru-Fit but they all fit... SoundFX are a bit louder. Wheelbase doesn't matter for the muffler that fits my truck, and they all had a 3" inlet and two 2-1/2" outlets. There is also a coat hanger on the inlet and when I put the clamp on a few years ago there was a notch at the top pushing the old pipe out so I cut it out but then my new intermediate pipe didn't go in far enough. To stop the gas leak and a lot of noise, this is another reason to replace the muffler. 18202 was the most expensive so I went with the lowest and it sounds good in the truck...a bit loud but not too much for me and with the windows open it's not noticeable. The Walker website doesn't show all the options so I had to search a few auto parts stores but the price here was the best at around $33 so no complaint means 5 stars.
