I bought the IM 608 a year ago, I've had absolutely no problems with it, but I've never had to call Autel for whatever reason. Well, I bought an Autel ultra, and lo and behold, I discovered just how arrogant Autel really is. First, after many attempts to contact their technical support and after logging into my system, they admitted that there was something wrong with my device, but what should I do with the cash module Autel Ultra completely burned out ? Now the machine doesn't recognize anything. The ignition won't turn on, add Autel says there's nothing they can do because the device now needs to be virginized. Well I sent the device back and believe it or not I'm still waiting for a refund from the company what the heck is a company to deal with. Not to mention they told me they are not responsible for anything their software causes. Well I've been repairing luxury cars since 1984 and I can tell you, when you call them with a problem the first thing they say is user error. I am so disappointed in this company even though I had an IM608 and never had a problem with it. If you want to buy an Ultra, I advise against it. In fact, on the GM Tahoe that came in the store, we swapped out the PCM (we had to program it, of course). So when I plugged in the Ultra it said no connection, when I plugged it into the IM 608 it said the PCM needs to be programmed what is the difference. Basically, the Autel ultra is a nice looking, utterly useless piece of junk, believe me.
