used to reset the airbag light on a 2003 Jetta
After blowing the fuse on the 12v power supply in my 2003 Jetta, I accidentally pulled the fuse associated with the airbag system; As a result, the airbag light went out. The only way to fix this is to take it to the dealer and pay for disposal. or use special software. There is a free version of vcds software that can be used with third party cables. The website recommended buying one with an ftdi chip as they seem to work the best. After receiving the cable I downloaded the latest ftdi virtual port drivers and downloaded the vcds software. The cable could be easily connected to the car via the communication port 3 and the airbag light reset after a minute. All in all, it was easy to set up and worked great.
