The original 2002 Camry muffler had rust on the flange and tailpipe and had to be removed. It was the cheapest and fastest solution to finally take care of it. The flange is well bolted to the mid pipe flange but the muffler is left really crooked. Instead of sitting upright, it probably leans sideways 30 degrees when viewed from behind. This was caused by a flange connection so adjusting the three hangers in my case wouldn't help improve the look. It's been almost two months now and the silvery aluminum finish is tarnishing and rust has already formed around the area. where the exhaust pipe is welded to the muffler body. Let's see how long this lasts. Overall it's nice that the sound is back to normal and maybe actually quieter than I remember when I had the stock muffler. Just hope it lasts a few years, which could be iffy.
