Costs money. in Computer Components

I bought this because my new computer didn't have FireWire 800 ports I'm using a Fireface 800 and I'm having trouble with the drivers. I installed the card and then the 800 driver from the CD. I had to go into device manager and update the driver for the 3 port card. Once I did that everything else fell into place and I can now use my Fireface 800. - April 2015 Update - Well there was a reason my computer didn't have Firewire ports. Win 7 rewrote their FireWire drivers and they are dropping support for it. What does that mean, this product is indirectly likely to cause some problems. I've had constant crashes and blue screens when using my Fireface 800. After a year of updating Reason and playing around with FireWire drivers, I've been able to use it reasonably stably, but I couldn't use wave editing programs without them crashing. I ended up selling my Fireface 800 and replacing my audio interface with one that uses USB. RME has newer audio interfaces that use USB, but I don't trust their Windows 7 drivers (their company has a good reputation for reliable drivers, you know). In the end, this product worked and allowed me to use FireWire, but I really shouldn't have.
