I have (and use) a TomTom One XL-S sat nav and have decided to buy an XXL 540-S, one for each car. Apparently TomTom doesn't understand that their customers want to have 2 GPS devices at the same time and their online system won't let me buy a map of Brazil (where I live) for the new device because I already bought it. for the old device. I contacted support and found out that I need to create a new TomTom account with a different email address (fortunately I have several) in order to buy maps for the new device. The new device, like the old one, sometimes picks up a signal from the satellite for up to 5 minutes, but after that it redirects (and redirects if I don't follow the instructions) quite acceptably. I still don't understand the IQ Routes feature and how it works in practice. The manual says one thing, but sales sites like Revain say otherwise. I have IQ routes enabled but it doesn't seem to make a difference in the expected travel time. Asking for alternative routes is usually useless as alternative routes are usually many kilometers longer than the original route. Very useful sharing, especially as I can fix one-way streets and illegal left or right turns that the maps haven't taken into account yet and then get the best route for me right away. With the speed warning here in Brazil, several non-existent speed sensors are alerted and others are alerted by the wrong speed limit (100 km/h instead of 80 km/h or 50 km/h instead of 60 km/h). so that the service can be significantly improved. For POI, you can download community POI from TomTom website but they are not very well organized and you have to watch out for memory limitations as this device doesn't have an SD card slot for expansion and its internal memory is limited to 2GB, which is almost fully loaded is preloaded US Canada Mexico map. To install the Brazil map I had to unload the US map first, which is cumbersome because next time I go to the US (which I often do), I have to switch maps, which takes quite a long time. while TomTom devices use the slow USB 1.1 standard.
