Review on Acer ED273UR Pbidpx FreeSync 1440p Curved Monitor by Jacob Hill

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far so good - no dead pixels, smooth operation, G-Sync compatible " (1440p, 144Hz, 27 ")

I have just ordered and received this model (27" 1440p 144hz curved) which as of May 2019 looks like a new SKU as I only see previous reviews for the 31" 1440p or 27" 1080p version of this curved display. Overall I'm very happy with the $350 price tag for what it offers in terms of performance but I'll update this review if my mind changes. Note. There are about 5-6 SKUs on this Revain- Page Keep this in mind when looking at reviews or you will get very loud feedback Background: I have had a GSYNC compatible ASUS monitor for almost three years, which was already a 27" 1440p 144Hz monitor. I'm very happy with this 'golden spot' as I don't have 4K gaming hardware yet and HDR isn't a deal breaker for me. However, the PG278Q SWIFT for 2019 comes with some serious downsides. I have screen blanking/ Tearing experienced, and the ASUS warranty policy "Send first, maybe see later" is rubbish for $600 hardware. Also, my model was quickly discontinued as it only had one DP output, which (surprise) makes it difficult to use with multiple devices. All of this to say that I wasn't looking for an "upgrade", but rather a reasonably priced device that would match my current hardware stats without paying another $500 for a more or less identical monitor with "advertised" G SYNC -Pay support (more on that). the). what later) This all brings me to the Acer ED273UR. I didn't want to buy this and wanted to wait for the Acer PREDATOR display to go on sale, but suddenly I saw this new SKU for only $350 and also noticed that the ED273 hardware line seems to be "NVIDIA G Sync recommended". becomes ". " This SKU isn't technically included, but I was willing to take a chance given similar hardware. Most other similar displays are $500, so what's the catch? I'm still looking for one. No dead pixels .Multiple inputs.Curved.Looks like it works with my "simple" NVIDIA G Sync demos and overall looks like a fairly large curved monitor with a high resolution/refresh rate, the only thing I will mention is is the weaker contrast, lower brightness, and slightly higher response time on this display compared to $600 hardware, but not a huge difference between the two considering it's almost half the price. No dead pixels.i will keep an eye out and update this review if anything changes.
