The plastic poles were useless. Maybe because they're so light, but probably because they're plastic. My bird prefers wood so we had to replace it. I also thought three feeders would be good, but my bird only eats from one of them (probably because she has only ever had one feeder before), the water feeder is very small. I have a cockatiel and this cage is very small for him but he doesn't sit in it much as he is free roaming in our house and he likes the head more. Unless your bird is treated as it pleases and released, I wouldn't get that for a bird bigger than a finch. We only reduced the size because we reduced our living situation. Ideal cage for traveling with a bird. Also easy to clean.
