I work with Porsche cars and small engines. They have aluminum motors and other parts and will no doubt strip threads. These and other measurements are mandatory and actually make the thread stronger, and it's definitely better than buying a new part or welding it on and then drilling and tapping. But if you tap aluminum you have to use an anti-seize agent on the faucet or you run the risk of hanging it and possibly breaking it in the hole (big problem). This is the best I've ever used and it's very easy to make. Good product.
