This is amazing stuff!

So I ordered it this morning, chose local delivery the same day, received and installed it in about 5 hours. It's a really easy install if you take your time and work slowly. Now some information about my truck. This is a 1999 Extended Cab Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 liter engine. The truck has done 200,000 miles and has understandably become a bit sluggish (tired old engine). After the installation was complete, I took it for a test drive. And let me tell you. I was a little skeptical about the power increase, but now this thing has amazing throttle response. Just the lightest touch of the pedal and the power is there. MUCH better than stock. I don't know yet what the change in mpg is but will update this as soon as I know. As for the "whistle". It really isn't bad at all. I actually like the sound and wish it was a little more noticeable as it's barely audible around 1500rpm. Overall this was a great purchase for the price ($89) and I would definitely recommend it to a friend. Notice. In the photo there are 2 pads. Well, only 1 gasket is supplied that fits between Airaid and throttle body. The stock gasket (ring type) stays in place and seals the space between the intake port and the choke gasket. So keep that in mind when installing. It's not necessary to remove the old gasket, but make sure you don't damage it during the process.

Pros
  • understandable even for the old ones
Cons
  • Some little things
