Works fine so far for parts

So I read a review that this product doesn't work because it doesn't have a support bracket. So I went to my local electronics store (Fry's) and asked what dash kit I should use and they recommended this model over the 6505. So I went ahead and bought this on Amazon for my 2005 Jeep. When it arrived I hooked up my stereo using the correct wiring harness and antenna adapter. After removing the factory radio, I noticed that the factory radio is attached to the dashboard with 4 screws. The actual radio and dash bezel are one piece so with my aftermarket radio I was trying to figure out how to attach the actual radio to the dash as the dash is bolted on with four screws but as this actual product did not lack any support brackets initially no sense. After looking at the included instructions (imagine), it turned out to be a pretty easy fix. The aftermarket radio (Sony) comes with a detachable bracket. This bracket actually attaches to this bezel and then bolts to the dash and then the aftermarket radio slides into the bracket and snaps into place. So the bracket attaches to the bezel, the bezel to the dashboard, and the radio snaps into the bracket and is therefore attached to the dashboard. In principle, no additional brackets are required. I know you can buy the 6505 with support brackets, but this one actually works quite well. For those of you unfamiliar with this, you will need a wire harness, antenna adapter and this kit. At the same time, installation is easy. I just installed it a few days ago and it works great, but I can't comment on the quality of the product. It appears to be a strong plastic and should hold up. I've heard of other brands breaking where the kit attaches to the dash so I'll see what happens. I will update this if there are any changes. So basic installation instructions: 1. Connect the wire harness to the secondary radio wiring. Use crimping or soldering.2. Attach the second radio bracket to the dashboard3. Remove the dashboard cover (depending on make/model)4. Remove the main unit, disconnect the wiring and antenna5. Connect the secondary radio harness/wiring to the factory wiring6. Connect the antenna adapter to the factory antenna cable7. Fit the gauge/bracket to the dashboard (ensure loose ends of wiring and antenna cable are accessible)8. Reattach the instrument panel cover9. Connect the cables and antenna cables to the secondary radio10. Slide the aftermarket radio into the dash/mount until it snaps into place. Ready.
