A 256GB flash drive was a recent purchase of mine. There is a total of 238.5 GB of space for use. There is a lot of speed when reading and writing, thus it must be USB 3. X. The flash drive is warm to the touch when connected to a USB 2.0 port, and very hot when connected to a USB 3.0 port, when in use. It's functioning! It's toasty when set to passive mode. It gets hot when put to use in a smart television. It gets warm when using the phone, and presumably very hot when rewriting a lot of data. I haven't done any kind of testing yet. Unfortunately, I can't tell if the metal or plastic flash disks are filled at a higher or lower temperature. Most likely, the metal acts as a radiator in this setting. A gorgeous and functional flash drive in theory. But the heat during surgery is a major concern of mine.
