Review on 🐾 Gooby Active X Step-in Harness: Choke-Free Small Dog Harness with Soft Synthetic Lambskin Strap by Sharon Weston

This harness arrived yesterday and broke today. It fell from my black dog at dusk as I was walking down a busy street. Luckily she was by my side at this point and stopped as I walked over to pick her up and move the leash from the broken harness to her collar to complete the walk. The photo in the LAVENDER tableware catalog (any size) shows two rivets. One of them failed completely. And when it happened, the ENTIRE harness just and quickly slid off my 12 lb dog's body onto the floor, the leash still uselessly tied to it. All other points of this suspension (except for these two rivets) look very carefully and securely sewn. In fact, it's a DESIGN FAILURE that rivets were used at all, as I don't see (or don't) see any reason why hefty stitching used elsewhere in the suspension wouldn't be a safer, more durable, and overall better choice. . For your pet's safety, I recommend avoiding this specific Gooby harness. I have a different harness (which I also received yesterday). This is the same design (and product page) but larger for my 28 lb dog. When we got home I examined this strap carefully to make sure it couldn't break similarly, but it looks like one of them (sea blue, size L) was made entirely with secure stitching and NO rivets. I plan on continuing to use this harness and buying another harness for my small dog - no cleats. Aside from the utter INCONSISTENCY of this product (!), it fit great, my dog seemed perfectly comfortable in it, it was easy enough to adjust to her body, put on and take off. NOTE TO GOOBY: PLEASE ALTER THIS BELT, USE ONLY STRONG STITCHING AND BE AWARE OF ALL BELTS MADE WITH ANY RIVETS! FOR DOG SAFETY!
