Running the 24V fan at 12V works great and is fairly quiet
To reduce the noise I bought the 24V version and ran it at 12V. I have tested several other voltages and they start reliably even at 4V. At 12V they are a bit noisier and move a bit less air than the Prusa i3 Mk2s stock 5015 fan. As advertised, they have "double ball bearings". The packaging lists both sleeve and ball bearings, and each fan's label does not list the bearing type, but disassembly confirms two ball bearings.
