General Tech Intl 2258622 The "Steelgrip" rubber mallet suits me perfectly and I love it. I put off the purchase for too long. Every time I needed a hammer, I would fold up some darning cloths and use them as a pillow so as not to destroy what I was collecting with a hammer. So I gave up and bought one. I read several reviews mentioning that it stinks. Yes, it stinks because it stinks of rubber. Especially new tires. I'm not going to keep it under my nose day in and day out, and I'm not going to use it to make my house smell nice. It doesn't smell like teenage sneaker feet or kitty litter when it needs cleaning. Don't bring it up your nose and you'll be fine. Every rubber mallet stinks when it's new. Like new car tires. Oh yeah, they're rubber too. Face 2 inches wide. That's enough for all jobs I can imagine. For the price I paid for this hammer and for its quality I am more than satisfied. The weight is very light making it a very easy tool to use. I used it to attach some wheels to a part that was only partially assembled so I bought a hammer and got the results I wanted. I do a lot of chores around the house and out, so a hammer would be the perfect tool for this job. Great addition to my tool box.
