Edited. At first I was frustrated because they aren't marked left or right. But I realized that the direction the wheels leaned outward corresponded to the foot they ran on, and labeled mine accordingly. I think I was also frustrated because they are difficult to use. I knew there would be a learning curve, but it's really hard. Although I'm starting to understand now. I think they are a good pair for beginners. Deca sold maple. Trucks are styled correctly (no S-curve). And it all comes with a protective case at a very good price. I'm not sure the wheels are round enough and I might eventually trade them in for JMKride wheels (another $40 plus shipping is more than these skates) but I think they're worth the money. If I had given up (and I almost did) I would have at least only lost $35. To be able to ride a short distance without falling face down, pushing off a pole in our concrete basement helped me because I could get faster (must ride properly). I watched a few videos where people recommended starting on a small hill but it didn't work for me.
