Works great for occasional use.

Worked exactly as I hoped. It fits 4 very large suitcases and a few other small bags. On the way back it was a bad rainy day and nothing got wet. It took me about an hour to download the first time, but after that I was able to download and connect rails to back them up in about 30 minutes. A great way to add trunk space for occasional use. I imagine a hard sided rack would be easier to load but if you need it once or twice a year this is ideal. Our Ford Explorer appeared to reduce fuel economy by 1-2 mpg.
