Maybe I'm just on the boat

The original kit that came with MotorGuide that I installed in the 1990's lasted quite a while. Then they fell into disrepair and the engine mount began to detach from the deck, especially when cornering. I bought a new set and replaced them, uh-uh. They broke on the next fishing trip. Bought another set. The same thing. Maybe I overwhelmed her. I solved the problem by cutting a long rubber rod, leaving just enough to fit the mounting holes in the deck, leaving the rectangular pieces for the motor mount. I purchased the correct size stainless steel screws, locknuts and washers and reinstalled the MotorGuide. No more trouble.
