I bought this for a dorm size fridge with a small freezer compartment. After defrosting, the fridge wanted to run non-stop and freeze everything. This device is easy to use. The refrigerator is connected to the block. The device is connected to an electrical outlet. The temperature sensor is included in the refrigerator. I have no idea of the accuracy. This unit only controls temperatures up to 40 degrees Fahrenheit, which is too warm to control a freezer. The fridge in the hostel is cooled from the freezer compartment down. I used the lowest temperature setting to check and placed the temperature probe at the lowest point in the fridge. This works for me. This creates a small freezer area on the shelf below the freezer, but everything below is above freezing, especially liquids stored in door baskets. The device turns off the power when the temperature is reached. The compressor does not always run. Others using it for a dorm fridge may want to experiment with probe placement or temperature settings.
