The metal ball at the end of each tool is smooth with no seams, chips or flakes. They are great for working with polymer clay. I use them to etch drawings, put parts in place, sculpt curves, etc. But rubber tips are a different story. Each one has a seam with tiny bits of frayed gum that will leave lines in the clay if you try to smooth it out. The flat came out twisted and mangled on one side. Attempting to rip off the frayed seam pieces will leave a dent. They're almost entirely useless unless you're trying to smooth things out. It's a shame because that's exactly what I was hoping for. Feathering out seams in tone is exactly what I need it for and it just leaves a mess of lines.
