That would actually be 4.5 stars for me, but there aren't half stars. I love these instruments. This is one of my favorite sets along with Color Applicators - Color Shaping Tools. The reason I'm taking off the half stars is because the flex tips in my set are a little warped. I can still work fairly well with it but just need to avoid rough/pocket areas. Overall, these are great tools for sculpting polymer clay. I use all tips. A large sphere is great for creating a hammered metal effect.

The metal ball at the end of each tool is smooth with no seams, chips or flakes. They are great for working with polymer clay. I use them to etch drawings, put parts in place, sculpt curves, etc. But rubber tips are a different story. Each one has a seam with tiny bits of frayed gum that will leave lines in the clay if you try to smooth it out. The flat came out twisted and mangled on one side. Attempting to rip off the frayed seam pieces will leave a dent. They're almost entirely useless…

I really like the action of these tools, although the cone tool has become rough after only a month of regular use. I often use the taper tool to get smooth but sharp edges and that's not possible with frayed bits. It just seems that the latex used for the lace is cheap and crumbles easily. Because of this, I would recommend looking for a different set of tools. However, ball polishers are great, especially the small and medium sizes. I didn't find much use for more. These wonderful tools can be used in many different ways. Ball nibs come in three very different sizes - 2mm, 6mm and 12mm in diameter and the two larger sizes are hard to find in other stylus sets. Pros: These tools are very good for a beginner sculptor like me. I tested them on sculpy, sculpy soft and super sculpy. They do a great job on all of them and are my number one tool for straightening. Don't get me wrong, this is NOT a product for all your sculpting needs.
