Review on 🚲 Swagman XC2 Hitch Mount Bike Rack for 2-Inch Receiver in Black - Enhancing SEO by Michael Miner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Here's what to do with the rest of the parts!

Update August 20th: Just returned from a trip on a Schwinn 20" Classic Hollywood Ladies Bike. I also used velcro on both wheels but I don't think it was necessary, the bike rode rock solid on the Honda Element. In short, if your bike falls off this stand, I think you're doing something wrong. I am preparing to take this rack on a 4000 mile journey and will update this review as soon as any issues arise. She looks good and I don't see how there will be problems. I'm only giving it four stars so far because the assembly instructions are so bad. It's easy to put together, but if Step 1 "insert cotter pin" doesn't make sense to you (and the diagram doesn't say what "cotter pin" is), you're in for trouble. You will also have leftover parts when yours arrive like mine. I figured out where to go and then called Swagman (a very friendly customer service rep in Canada) to make sure I got it right. You will most likely have 4 washers left. They are routed under the handles used to adjust and lock the slide out wheel arches. So just put them on in Step 2 when you deploy the handles and they won't be left out. You most likely have two lock washers left. If yours comes with a vertical arm and two side arms already attached to the bottom of the mount, they weren't supplied from the factory (why?). They go under the two nuts that hold the two bottom bolts on this bracket. Therefore, you have to disassemble and reassemble them to use them. Do this at your own risk, not mine, and make sure this mount is well fitted or you could end up dumping your bike somewhere on the street.

Pros
  • Outstanding Overall Performance
Cons
  • Available in Black only
