It could be better to remove the burrs. Note that the bolt size for the flange is actually 3.5" even though a 3" pipe is used. This is to get rid of the wide, flat flare at the end of the tube (which was actually slightly bent). So if you plan to use something like the 3 inch QTP rotator you will need to cut out the screw holes and deepen the flare a bit. quality piece.
