It was very easy to set up. It goes well with our 10lb Maltipoo. We were able to teach her to stop barking at the postman or the noise at the front door after we said "it's okay". We bought this to improve barking from visitors and people on walks and at the dog park. This is largely due to the decline in socialization during the pandemic. We have done many other trainings that have helped barking in the dishwasher, in the car and the like. She barked until she almost forced herself to cough and gasp. With this device, the beeping scared her the first time. She has learned that she beeps when she barks and becomes much quieter when we put her on. In fact, we just put it on without turning it on and it's quiet! Our friend came to our house today. She barked two separate little barks and that was it. She growls softly and we say "quiet". Follow the instructions in the training booklet for this device. A reminder not to use your dog's name when correcting, lest it be associated with a punishment. I found out from the trainer! Try it! Sometimes we use it together with a soothing chew, for example for the New Year's fireworks. It really worked like magic for us!
