Whether you need to know the temperature of a hot object or need to control the temperature in your home, this tool is a must have. I bought this to test the thermostat as I was having coolant issues in my Acura Integra 96 that was replacing a k20a2 engine. My heater core and upper radiator hose got hot but the lower hose stayed cold so I took out the thermostat and did a boiling water test to see when it opens and closes while monitoring this unit. The temperature instrument has a D:S ratio of 12:1 (distance to point), which is good, although a 6:1 ratio is better. Measured from -25.6°F to 752°F (-32°C to 400°C). Resolution 0.1°C/0.1°F. Degree C/F switch. Backlit LCD display for easy reading. Adjustable emissivity (EMS) from 0.1 to 1.0. Alarm when limit values are exceeded or not reached with data hold. Automatic shutdown. The unit appears to be accurate, but I bought a second one to test the accuracy of each one, so I have one unit in the garage for both work and personal use.
