For the most part I am very satisfied with the Startech products. I need a serial port on my desktop and decided to give this a try. It works fine without isseus. I use it with a serial printer and have had no problems with it falling out. It was very easy to install. It occupies one or two half-height slots (if you only need one serial port, you don't need to use the second slot). If you have a full-size slot, both serial ports use only one slot. There is a Molex power connector on the board, but I didn't use it. There is a setting to send 5V, 12V or no voltage across pin 9. It is set to no voltage by default. It doesn't sound like you need to use a Molex power supply unless you're powering pin 9. The manual says it's optional even if you're powering pin 9. The board has pins for the parallel port, but the ribbon cable and parallel port bracket are not included. Once installed I just ran the latest driver from the website. I set the port settings and off we go. Since installing and configuring it, I haven't had any more problems.
