Hard-to-find carbon steel peeler

About 30 years ago, I bought a plain [foreign-made] vegetable peeler with a carbon steel blade from a large store. I still have it, and while there is a bit of surface rust on the concave side of the blade, it's still nice and sharp. So I've been casually looking for another to keep to myself for the past few years, but none of the retailers I've checked stock it anymore. (Many knives made of stainless steel or with fancy plastic handles, but no carbon steel blades.) So I finally searched online and found this one, and it appears to be the same model as my vintage knife. And cheap! So I ordered two. Most of the negative reviews here complain about rust. Don't be afraid of them. If you didn't know that carbon steel will rust if you leave it in the sink overnight or throw it (gasp!) in the dishwasher, then this knife isn't for you. Buy one with a stainless steel blade instead and please don't complain that it's not that sharp. [Edit: I see that the current product description says it is "dishwasher safe". But it's also said to have a "chrome-plated carbon steel blade" (the blade is NOT chrome-plated) and "a wire handle that offers a comfortable and secure hold with an extra shock-absorbing grip" (again, no). . I don't think it will harm the dishwasher.] So no dishwasher, but no need to babysit them either. All I've done with mine over the years (except when it accidentally spent a few nights in our compost bin) was wash and hang dry shortly after each use. Sometimes I clean/polish the flatter side of the blade with an abrasive sponge. But that's all - no towel drying, no smearing. It's a simple, well-designed utility and I'm really glad I finally found another one.
