I wouldn't put this thing closer than 20 feet to a fuel line. I bought this as a check valve for a modified PCV system I'm installing on one of my modified cars, but it doesn't even fit. The valve mechanism is cheap, poorly designed and doesn't allow any volume to flow at all. It only acts as a check valve as it does not allow flow in either direction. I unscrewed the two halves when I found the blocking stand while checking out and it looks like the little cage collapsed. Even if I "fixed" it in a way that could cause the disc to come loose from the seat, this thing is nothing more than a huge flow restriction in its intended flow path. Not to mention that none of these materials will survive conventional fuels, let alone ethanol.
