My old set of flexible cutting mats was after . Just take a look . 6 years of almost daily use so I needed something to replace them. I saw them, read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Glad you did! They're thick enough to feel "substantial" yet flexible enough to flex to make it easier to add my sliced/diced ingredients to a pot or wok. The non-slip bottom with "waffle grip" also works well on my hard surface table without slipping. And they are color coded so you can leave a bird mat just for the bird, a fish mat just for the fish, etc. These are NOT self-healing mats (I do a lot of crafting and use self-healing paper cutting mats). . and fabric - they don't work that way). But they're thick and strong enough that I haven't had any issues with knife cuts on the surface so far - and I use the Veggie Mat daily. For the money this is a relatively economical solution - dishwasher safe, easy to store etc. No complaints. Will most likely purchase additional sets for family members.
