I am expecting my first grandchild in January and thought this would be a great way to celebrate her birth. My mum made one of these for me and my siblings (different sets/patterns but cross stitch) and I appreciate it so much - I hope my grandson will appreciate it too. I searched, searched cute and settled on rabbits, although my daughter insisted on an owl theme. In any case. I got it and opened it up and this thing is HUGE! I did not see the finished size indicated in the description and I am very disappointed. The one my mom made is about 8" x 10" and I think it's the perfect size. This item, Janlynn Cross Stitch Kit, Sleepy Bunnies Birth Announcement (completed) measures 11" x 14" and I can't believe my daughter actually hung it on the wall so I won't. It also says it's a screen print. I mistakenly thought that this meant it was a stamp and not a counted cross stitch, but it is NOT. THIS SET COUNTS AS A CROSS STITCH. Judging by the Q&A section on the product page this was unclear as there are conflicting answers but it COUNTS. It's definitely cute and the instructions seem clear enough. And if you want an 11" x 14" birth certificate, that's great. Contents: Chart/Instructions, Dental Floss, Needle and Aida Canvas. Without fabric backing and screen printing. Much luck!
