This truck bed is very beautiful and durable. It inflates very quickly and the release function creates a good vacuum. People seem very upset that the battery pack is a nickel-metal hydride battery. But for something like that it's perfect. They are very cheap, hold their charge very well and are rated for several hundred cycles. Considering I get 5-6 inflation/deflation cycles on a single charge, this battery will probably last longer than a bed. The bed itself is very solidly built and even supported my weight (250lbs) along with my 70lb dog and his claws dug into the mattress. However, the mattress has some less than ideal qualities. The battery does not turn off automatically when fully charged during charging. So you need to keep an eye on it so it doesn't overcharge and ruin the battery (I assume most people who have battery problems have done so). In addition, the bed is "universally fit”. Yes, there are different sizes for different beds, but the fit is never perfect. My Dakota has a bed that is too wide for a medium sized mattress but too small for a full sized mattress. The mattress is also a few centimeters too high for the wheel arches; which, in combination with a mattress that is too narrow, makes both sides of the mattress extremely unstable. I have to stuff the wheel arch cutouts with fabric, pillows, etc. to properly support the sides of the mattress so I don't get sucked in between the sides of the mattress and the bed of the truck and get stuck while I sleep. I have now ordered wheel arch inserts in the hope that I can partially inflate these to fill the gap between the cut outs and my wheel arches. I suspect this will work pretty well, but it sucks that I have to do this from the start. When delivered, the mattress can only be used as a double zone in the middle of the mattress.
