The original starter on my 2000 F250 PSD died. Well it was 19 years old. I've always liked the sound of a transmission starter so I decided to give this one a try. Mainly because it had such good reviews. When I got the new starter I was a bit scared because it was a different shape, had more teeth per gear and only had two mounting bolts. I knew that when starting, there are two gears meshing, and while there are more teeth, the spacing between the teeth is important. In this case, the distance between the teeth was the same. Installing the mounting bolts was actually easier than the original starter. The only thing I would like to say about the installation is that it is necessary to attach the cables before installation as it is very difficult to attach a thin wire after installation. The heavy cable was able to hold it in place, making it much easier to connect the thin wire. The first time I started my truck with this new starter it was amazing. It happened so fast I almost couldn't believe it. Let's see if I can get another 19 years for this! I'll get back to you after a while to see if I like it too.
