💡 57294 Powermaster Alternator Review

Good charging speed. My Chrome 100 amp 10si demo didn't last long and couldn't keep my battery charged. For me, this is a paid upgrade.

Works well, fits as expected, holds 14+ volts with all my off road and search lights. After 10 minutes it was barely warm. Very happy with my purchase and it's made in the USA and not Chinese bullshit.

Good product. I had one of these in my CJ-7 for 6 years of punishment (dirt, water, dust, concussion) and it finally failed. I recommend, although I know that the output of the amplifier is very rarely needed. I've also upgraded my charging cable to 6 gauge to ensure I'm getting all it has to offer.

Installed on a 1970 Chevelle with 383 fuel system, Holley Sniper and electric fans. The original alternator was tiny at 37A and the open circuit voltage dropped to 11.6V. I installed this Powermaster and now I have a stable open circuit voltage of 14.3 with the fans and lights on. Highly recommended!

My Jeep with AMC 360 and DUI distributor had a power problem. Switched to this generator and no more problems, it provides enough power for engine, lights and accessories. Power Master has never let me down, their generators always run, are easy to install and stand up to harsh conditions.

Good stuff. The black finish they use looks durable. The bottom hole in the body is 3/8 and the holes in my 454 heads are 7/16. I would like them to enlarge the hole and fit a bushing in it so you can just knock the bushing out if you have 7/16 threaded holes in your heads. I'll just drill it down to 7/16 but I'm sure that will void the warranty.

This alternator looks fantastic under my hood. I just had to replace a pulley from my old alternator. I was adding modern conveniences and upgrading a few things to my 1986 GMC Jimmy and I was apprehensive about replacing the alternator with something custom. I don't worry anymore! It bolted directly to the engine block and bracket as if it were theirs. I recommend this generator for those who have a small Chevy 350 block.

If you are looking for a top quality alternator then this is the one for you, it comes with separately tested idle, mid-range and full load booster card. Make sure you don't over-torque, there is a chart in the instructions to check this. For example, I had to replace the pulley because I'm using a lower toothed crankshaft pulley and had done the calculations beforehand. .Except for the fact that one of the old alternators (regardless of booster rating) doesn't seem to be able to charge all the accessories at idle, in gear at traffic lights in heavy rain when you high Need headlights to power quick defrost (which adds air conditioning), rear heater and my electric SPAL radiator fans. There's only about 11 volts, so the battery will be drained rather than charged at this point. I even have all the LED bulbs all over the place painting some of the old lightbulbs.
