.Except for the fact that one of the old alternators (regardless of booster rating) doesn't seem to be able to charge all the accessories at idle, in gear at traffic lights in heavy rain when you high Need headlights to power quick defrost (which adds air conditioning), rear heater and my electric SPAL radiator fans. There's only about 11 volts, so the battery will be drained rather than charged at this point. I even have all the LED bulbs all over the place painting some of the old lightbulbs. My attempt to solve this would be the smallest alternator pulley I could find which I have used on previous alternators to good effect i.e. under the above conditions the alternator will continue to charge and the voltmeter on the dash will show 14 all the time, 5 volts on, confirmed . in my PTO at the battery terminals. It is as if the engine is idling at 500 rpm with the original pulley.
