I bought a Cable Matters 4-port USB 3.0 hub and I still use it. This one is even better! Very compact and powered from all ports. I've tried it with my iPad mini, mouse, BlueTooth keyboard with charger and 128GB USB 3.0 flash drive with no problems! Perfect! I'll probably get another one in case this one breaks or gets stolen. Buy this and you won't regret it! Update: It's been a few months and this device is working fine. Another update: Great compact USB3.0 hub. This is my second. I keep one in my travel bag and one on my desk. Still works as a hub from my USB-c hub since I upgraded to a new MacBook Pro 16". The form factor is superb. It fits in my pocket and is the size of my palm.
