Review on 🍷 Chill Your Wine with BarCraft Acrylic Wine Chiller Stick: A Refreshing Delight by Zane Myers

Great idea but simple physics gets in the way

Sometimes a product sounds great on paper, but when it comes to life it fails completely. Product. It is a two piece construction: a chrome steel rod that screws into an acrylic stopper/filler. You put a metal stick in the freezer for a few hours, and when you're done, screw it into your hat, pop it into your wine bottle, and in a few minutes it should be cool enough to be perfect. Pour. Except that it isn't. See, the wine doesn't actually go through a chilled metal rod and then through a spout that would probably keep it cool. Instead, the wine alone passes through the uncooled acrylic pour. And it just doesn't work. You can wait 15 minutes for the chilled stick to set in the wine, but that's no better than simply popping the entire bottle and glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes. The stem just doesn't have enough mass to chill a full bottle of wine more than a few degrees. There were no instructions with my wine cooler. The pictures (below) show everything you will get. And did I forget to mention that you need to pour some unchilled wine to make room for the rod? Otherwise, get ready to rain down your precious wine from Mount Vesuvius. Yes, it sounds great on paper, but the reality is a wet blanket. Skip.
