This mirror consists mainly of plastic parts. It is lightweight and uses a suction cup to attach to any smooth, clean surface. I recommend cleaning the surface and making sure it is smooth before applying. It also helps to clean the suction cup. I drink alcohol and it works great for me. Since the rearview mirror usually has to be exposed to the hot sun every day, it must be designed to last a long time. This one is inexpensive and solves the problem quickly, but I would consider the limitations. It will most likely only be a year or less before the suction cup starts to harden, degrade and lose its suction power. I don't really see this as a replacement for my car's rearview mirror, more as a portable and temporary one. For this purpose I give 5 stars because it is really well made considering the price.
