You open this and it's pretty easy. The case is made of metal, the buttons with a harsh click, the mysterious power connector I didn't understand. This version comes with 4 USB-A, 2.0 and 4 USB-B ports that want to snap into place when installed. It's probably for the best that there aren't many USB-B ports, but I was surprised to find quite a few on my monitor. This can be annoying at first as USB-B seems so outdated, but it's used here so you can't misconnect it. It's really easy to install, plug the switch into the first PC, plug in the keyboard. and the mouse, and everything says. I have concerns based on other product reviews I previously researched. If using a KVM switch has any long-term effect, I will not connect an external hard drive to it as I use it to switch between a work PC and my personal PC. Using an external drive will likely still act data like a flash drive, and it's no good interrupting that. Overall I think this is a quality product for the price and if it ever fails and I can't use the backup on the other two connections I'll update my review here.
