Decent KVM Switch in External Components

I bought this product because I need a KVM switch that has independent audio switching, wireless USB keyboard/mouse support, VGA monitor support and ports for at least 3 computers. Pros: - Supports 4 computers - Switches sounds independently of other hardware. Cons: - Unreliable switching for my wireless keyboard/mouse - When placed vertically, the unit keeps wanting to pop out of the included stand simply due to the weight of the cables attached - It's not an intuitive unit. To get started, be sure to read the manual. Additional info: I didn't really know what to expect when I bought this device. I had an idea of what I wanted, but I didn't know how this device would perform even after reading other people's reviews. Depending on your keyboard/mouse model, this may or may not work for you. I tested it with 3 different keyboards and mice. Test Case 1: Logitech MX3200 Wireless Desktop It supports my Logitech MX 3200 Wireless Desktop which is a plus. The Logitech receiver connects to the keyboard port on the front of the KVM switch. However, the switch still treats the keyboard/mouse as a separate USB item that needs to be unplugged and plugged back in every time I switch ports. I don't really get it. This results in a 10 second toggle time when I switch ports. I previously had a $25 Belkin 2-port KVM and never had this problem with it. Belkin KVM instantly switches keyboard and mouse. Why connect it to the keyboard port and not separate USB ports on the back of the switch? The switch only reacts to switching commands from the keyboard when it is connected to the keyboard port. What makes the delay particularly odd is that I have a printer plugged into the KVM switch's secondary USB port and the printer is recognized almost immediately when I switch ports. . 1-2 seconds at worst. Test Case 2: The Logitech Wireless Desktop MK710KVM switch did not respond at all to the Logitech Unifying receiver when the receiver was placed in the keyboard or mouse front switch. I was only able to get the keyboard and mouse working by plugging the merging receiver into the switch's rear USB ports. Again, the downside is that (1) the keyboard/mouse is treated as a USB device that disconnects and reconnects when you switch, causing a delay, and (2) the switch doesn't respond to keyboard commands sent over the secondary side come USB ports, it only responds to commands through the keyboard port on the front panel. When I called Iogear tech support, they let me run the test scripts outlined earlier before telling me the switch was incompatible with my wireless keyboard/mouse. Test Case 3: Logitech LX3 Optical Mouse and Logitech Ultra Flat Keyboard I tested a wired USB keyboard and mouse (Logitech LX3 Optical Mouse [M/N: M-BW112A], Logitech Ultra Flat Keyboard [Y-BP62a]) using this switch was probably developed, and in this case the switch works perfectly, switching is almost instantaneous. All in all, depending on your setup and needs, this KVM switch is a decent device that does what it says on the tin. As long as you don't need it to work with a wireless keyboard/mouse, you're fine. Inconsistencies with the wireless keyboard and mouse caused me to rate it 4 stars instead of 5.
