Much better than a foam roller.

Just amazing. No complaints. I definitely recommend the large size (4.75 inches). I am NASM certified in personal training and learning the myofascial terrain is part of the required reading. I used to use a large smooth foam roller and was always a little frustrated at how difficult it was to do anything with knots in the back, glutes/piriformis, and inner thighs (adductors). With this ball it is much easier to hit these areas and break up and loosen the fascia there. I can't recommend it highly enough. Follow the instructions and pictures. If you're less mobile, use it while standing against a wall and move it in small circles, as they say, over the heaviest knots and then pause over the knot for 15 to 30 seconds until you feel it relaxes. Mentally focus on the area and make sure you're not overexerting the muscle you're working on. Deep breathing helps with this. Don't hold your breath. I also recommend the Resteck shiatsu massager.
