Advertised features and good fit - not that much

Looking to upgrade a 2010 Rav4. Uses a phone for GPS and non-genuine Bluetooth for calls. This unit was a little pricey due to the lack of a DVD, but with a large screen for GPS, storage for digital files, and Wi-Fi for Android updates and apps, I found it well balanced. A few things happened during installation that changed my mind. Because you called me. Advantages: fits and connections are good. Clear, large, clear display. The sound, especially the bass, is loud and clear, much higher pitched than the standard unit. Mapping and GPS worked great when the GPS antenna was positioned correctly. It was very accurate and fast. Cons: No AM. There is a radio, it just doesn't work, even in traffic jams. Annoyance: Had to connect to the paired phone every time I started the car (even though the machine was set to connect automatically). Wanted to give an honest review and try everything reasonable to see this work. It's not like this. Biggest loss: Bluetooth does not work reliably when making calls, it breaks off every second. Despite the excellent sound and bass for music, the ringtone volume was almost inaudible even at maximum volume of the phone and device. I could see the phone ringing and who was calling, but I had to answer the call from my phone. I tried two phones, restarted the device and my phone(s). (I was less than 5 inches from the device my phone was in.) I checked other features. Although it advertises "enhanced" connectivity, it doesn't have it. The device could see the three test files on my phone, but could neither identify nor play them. (MP3, MP4 and WAV). Wi-Fi connectivity was better, Mirrorlink, but control is only possible when connected via USB. Why bother with the main device when I'm still using my phone and now I'm physically connected to it? No reliable speakerphone, no DVD, no AM, no support for traditional digital files. Not even worth half the price.
