They fit snug so it would be nice to go up the size. Not long ago, but it looks like they're stretching a bit, which needs to be considered. I wear a women's size 8 and ordered the large because my ankle is exactly 9 inches and the large starts at a 9. I'm comfortable when I'm new. It gives me great support and helps with pain. I broke my ankle last September and had surgery in October. So, 9 months ago, and the tendons are healing the slowest.
