Very well designed.

I have seen some conflicting reviews on this product. I bought it because we are in the process of restoring a 1977 Minnie Winnie Class C motorhome. It was installed with a shore power cable in the compartment and permanently attached. To use it, you had to take it out of the compartment and then put it away in reverse order. It was a tiny branch and a bit of pain. I've noticed that new top coaches don't do it that way. They had an external outlet and the power cord from the shore was detachable. This kit had everything I needed to upgrade. First you need a hole in the car. Instructions call for a 2 7/8 hole saw. I used the 3" I already had and it was perfect. I needed to run a wire from an existing location to a new outlet. I managed to drill a hole just above the existing compartment and it fell in the space under one of the dining benches. I then cut the existing shore power cable just long enough to reach the new socket. I connected it to the new outlet following the color codes on the back. I then left the end of the plug with connected to the end of the remaining length of land cable, again according to the color markings indicated. Note: one review claims that the color coding is reversed. I didn't find it so. After fitting I checked the polarity checker, everything is fine. I suggest , you do the same FYI when I was younger I was an apprentice electrician so I know what I'm doing Another issue mentioned in some reviews i st the difficulty of putting the shoe on the fork. Yes it is tight but I put some oil where needed and I had no problems with it. If you have trouble with this step, find someone with strong hands to help you. In total it took me about 90 minutes. It looks factory and is well protected from the elements. Overall an easy installation and a nice end result. Installation assumes the presence of conventional tools and decent home-made skills. You will need your own screws to attach the socket to the trolley. I used sheet metal screws in aluminum panels on a bus.
