I originally bought it to mask chemical etching of glass. Upon arrival, I noticed a few notable things. Firstly, for those who are desperate like me, it really is double sided tape - it's just very hard to peel off one side of the backing, but eventually it will come off. During my work in the lab, I discovered this using phase diffraction microscopy, but even then it required too many tools just to remove the substrate. Otherwise, this tape worked amazingly well! It's fairly easy to cut and score, is highly flexible, stretches to conform to curved surfaces, has decent chemical resistance to most desirable etchants including hydrofluoric acid, is molded to enhance your mask, and features a CO2 laser cut. Be careful though, it's very sticky, sticky and gets everywhere.
