Review on Hygger Aquarium Air Stone Kit - Hydroponics Fish Tank Bubbler with Round Air Stone Disk for Small Bubbles & Ultra-High Dissolved Oxygen Diffusion by Carmen Polk

Find these noisy aquarium pumps and filters

After reading some other positive reviews I have come to the conclusion that these Hygger pumps are very listener friendly. I find them too noisy and too much noise in an aquarium is unacceptable. I have found that all "nano" air stones are louder than regular ones. If I were a scientific researcher I would fund the collection of the data, but all I can leave you with is anecdotal evidence, my experience. Soap bubbles are cute, but I wouldn't trade the happiness of my two goldfish for viewing pleasure. I end up sitting there for an hour or two, looking at them and tweeting. You have to live in an aquarium and I want it to be as quiet as possible. So for me these are the good old tried and tested gigastones. It pains me to leave something negative about a Hygger product. In my opinion this is one of the most respected brands, sharing the highest rating with Eheim. (My 4-star rating is based on respect for the brand.) The air pumps that Hygger makes are absolutely the best. Reliable, quiet and powerful. I highly recommend them. But these stones are suffering from the hype in the market for the latest "nano" devices. The Airstone isn't an Intel chip, and my ear tells me it's best to leave something alone if it's not hissing. After all, a commitment to time and tradition is one of the things that makes a well-respected brand respectable.
